Wang Wenbin, spokesman for the department, stressed that since the outbreak of the conflict in Ukraine, Beijing has consistently called for peace and negotiations, playing a constructive role in resolving the situation.

Reports about the supply of weapons to the Russian Federation, allegedly carried out by China, are speculation and are directed against the PRC. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin made the announcement on Thursday.

“The so-called ‘US intelligence’ [about the supply of weapons to the Russian Federation] is speculation and slander against China,” said a spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry.

He also stressed that since the outbreak of the conflict in Ukraine, China has consistently called for peace and negotiations, playing a constructive role in resolving the situation.

Wang Wenbin also said that “the United States, which is the largest supplier of weapons to the Ukrainian side, constantly makes far-fetched accusations against China of supplying weapons to Russia, which not only slows down the process of resolving the Ukrainian crisis, but can also harm China-US relations.”

As US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said earlier, Washington soon intends to publish some evidence regarding China’s military support for the Russian Federation. He claims that Beijing is allegedly “seriously considering providing lethal assistance to Russia.” As the American diplomat clarified, we are talking about weapons, among other things.
